Learn to love your Mondays for a better week

If you dread your Mondays, then you’re doing it wrong. Personally, I live for Mondays. It’s the Wednesdays and Thursdays I dread.

When I was younger, I never really understood the collective hate for Mondays. The other kids hated Mondays because it meant they’re back at school. The adults hated Mondays because it meant they’re back to work while the Internet showed their hate of Mondays with memes.

Wednesdays and Thursdays are my dreaded days because it meant that the end of the week is near. There is still so much to dream, to do and to achieve.

What I found different from my experience of Mondays from those who hate them is that I see Mondays as a chance to start and continue the things I want to do and love.

Mondays is like the beginning where I can implement weekly resolutions. If I don’t, then the chance to try again rolls back again pretty quickly.

I’ve come to the conclusion that this is my life and I want to enjoy it. Starting the week on the negative note only means I’m giving permission to negative thoughts that can only damper my hopes and dreams for my future.

We are personally responsible for how we feel, our environment, what we do on a daily basis and how we go about conducting our lives. If we are unhappy about our Mondays, we should really take a step back and see what the source of that unhappiness is.

Hating something doesn’t just exist without reason.

Do you hate Mondays because of your job? Because of the people? Because you always feel tired?

Analyse your your feelings, trace it back to the source and decide to do something about it. The more you let yourself hate Mondays, the more you become entrenched in the life and situations you’ve created for yourself.

You may not have control over certain external things, but you always have control over the choices you make and how you choose to feel.
