The Power of Gratitude

We are all moving deeper into these ‘different’ times and some of the unpredictable hurdles that have been placed in front of us. We may find our emotions on a bit of a roller coaster ride.

On one hand we are enjoying more down time. Flipping that same coin though the extra time is also making us batty and restless.

New life sprouting during this down time.

Like a new orchid blooming, what new habits or old hobbies are you getting a chance to explore? Are you reading any good books? New ones, or ones that you read before and are enjoying through new lenses now?

There are a bunch of new annoyances. Grocery shopping isn’t as easy as it used to be, we can’t just pop into a store to pick up that one item. More often than not we have to stand in line to get in and honor social distancing in all of our activities. The good in this is that I have had some really great conversations with people that I would not have ever spoken too before in these lineups. When things get back to ‘normal’ I look forward to having more spontaneous conversations with strangers.

Despite the annoyances we can always find something to be thankful for. I know for myself I am now taking the time and really enjoying more of the beauty around me. I am extremely grateful for this chance to slow down and enjoy.

The next time you find yourself getting annoyed, stop! Take a deep breath and choose to find something in the situation to be grateful for.

Miraculous things are bound to happen!!
