May It Be

Probably the beauty of the song is best experienced when heard in the silence of the night, with the music delivered right into your ears through your earphones. Enya’s sweet, reassuring voice surrounds you as she tells you to ‘Believe, and you will find your way’.

Her voice appears to come from across a vast distance. As if you truly are on a lonely journey. Just like Frodo carrying the One Ring. And she is guiding you on the toughest journey of your life.

The song appears timeless. It would probably evoke the same feelings in the listener, whatever century it were played in. A feeling of gratitude for being alive, and for the opportunity to experience the exquisite beauty of this world. And a feeling of hope when Enya sings, “When the night is overcome, You may rise to find the sun.”

You feel peaceful. Even if you feel lost right now, step by step you will reach where you are meant to go.
