Leadership career paths!

The leadership career path forum was a purpose-built discussion with renowned leaders from the hospitality industry.

I always love to listen and learn how leaders inspire the people they interact with day in and day out. They have the power to influence, make or break budding great leaders.

Dr. Mark Goulston says “Listen and be curious, don’t just listen, listen into the person and feel into them”.

I believe A great leader should listen and think with a beginner’s mind.

These leaders discussed their strengths and the challenges they faced on their leadership path. They shared ideas and discussed the different paths they took to get to where they are right now. They shared important success tips and gave the formula to become great leaders :)

The formula = Passion + Purpose + Hardwork.

The leaders in the forum — Mr. David Wilson, GM Palm Jumeirah, Mr. Philippe Montaubin, GM IBIS, Mr. Puneet Baijal, GM Al Bustan, Ms. Maria Tullberg, GM Radisson Blu and the facilitator, Mr. Rupprecht Queitsch CEO, INHOCO.

The interesting part of the discussion was the question, why there was just one woman leader among the other four in the forum. Maria’s answer portrayed the challenges women leaders face in the industry. She discussed how she overcame those challenges. Her passion filled self and help from some mentors she looked upon for guidance. She shared career tips to the women seated in the forum. She proudly said, “Many women leaders in the making and would be shining soon to make a global change”.

All the leaders shared their journey to the top and were proud of what they’d achieved as leaders.

Each leader was unique and shared some valuable advice.

Build trust. Have a work-life balance. Be proactive. Be proud of the choices you make. Choose the right employer.
