Why I March

I marched in the Womens March last year, and again yesterday in Womens March 2.0 in Seattle. Why do I march? There are many reasons. I march to protest our current political administration. To let the world know that I, that we, don’t support the tweeter in chief. I march for all of the female resisters of the past. To know and not take for granted all the things they fought so bravely for.

I march for the #metoo movement. I march for missing indigenous women, who this year led the Seattle march. I march because indigenous women are the only group not tracked by NCIC or the FBI.

I march so that hopefully, in the not too distant future, we will see equality for all people. Equality for all, regardless of gender, race, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation. I march so that my children will know that I am a part of the resistance. And we, the resistance, will never stop fighting.
