Melodramatis personae

The weekend went in chores, outings and Netflix.

I binged House Of Cards, and I can’t help but feel bittersweet.

Claire seems poised for her moment to have it all. Maybe it was too much to ask for a satisfying end, for closure.

Nevertheless, I won’t give her up — it delights my heart to see a woman have it all, even if it’s onscreen. Despite the ending, there is so much that goes on that resonates with me, and that’s not to be taken lightly.

Perhaps that’s the point — life isn’t all black and white, people aren’t just good or bad. What does matter is the end game.

When Claire says to her boyfriend about wanting all the doors that ever existed to stay open, I forgive the hurried clean-up of a season. The intent is what that matters, and that will most definitely do.
